Thanks to Zel I now have the 'Making of' video for the My Girl PV. God, they are cute dorks and Jun is adorable. Also: I SAW YOU TWO HOLDING HANDS UNDER THE TABLE, OHMIYA. (13:54)

I would buy more LEs if they came with 'making of' footage. I love backstage stuff.

Aaaaand a quick five-minute fic.

Right this way... )

I don't know what to do so I guess I'll just do my best.

Feedbooks has my fanfic!

  • Aug. 13th, 2009 at 2:38 PM
Sweet Zombie Jesus!
With many thanks to [info]mklutz I have discovered that somebody called blck_drgnfly has published my Holic fic over at a place called 'Feedbooks'. My name is still attached as the author and, as far as I can tell, there is no CHARGE for the downloads but...yeah. Some of it is in an anthology! [info]orpheneritus made an informative post about it here.

So it looks like if you wrote Holic/TRC fic you might want to have a look to see if you're there. Link to find yourself?

Off the top of my head [info]rallamajoop, [info]hydr0phobia, and [info]evherie have stuff there, too. Meg, I think you're clear. I left a comment on one of them and contacted the site guy, we'll see what happens.

I'm flattered that somebody liked it enough to want to share it with people but I find the method kinda strange. For the record: I don't mind if anybody links to my stuff--I don't even need to know about it. I WILL mind if you lift it wholesale and post it in other places. Not that I think any of you would.

All real life, all the time

Sweet Zombie Jesus!
So Skyla is doing better now that her mom moved out. This is awesome!

Brittney just moved in with us for...pretty much the foreseeable future. This is very odd. I knew she and her dad fought a lot but I didn't know it was so bad. Today she ran away from home and tried to hitchhike thirty miles to her mom's place. She refused to go to her dad's. Her mom can't take her (for some reason) and so the Sheriff brought her to us.

Tomorrow I get to talk to her mom and figure stuff out but there is an excellent chance that we'll have her for the entire school year. There is also a good chance that we will have her for the next three years after that and into her post-high school/university years.

Sunday night Ed and I rounded up the kids, Ashley and Brittney and headed out for (free!) custard. I had zero inkling that things were this bad and if you had told me that I would end up with 'lawful custody' of Brit I would never have believed it. Finances are in a pinch but...well, Ed and I like kids. We both think teenagers are fun. We'll manage.

In other news: Faith's hamster is really a cat. He's nearly two and he still likes to get out of his cage. The six cats we still have like to surround him when this happens. And play with him. He lives on still. Sure, he's a little goofy in his old age, but he is hale and hearty after some seven or eight go-rounds with the cats. That is one ballsy hamster, I tell you.

ETA: HOLY CRAP. I suddenly have a metric fuckton of e-mail from LJ. Methinks it has been stopping my mail. I will get back to people as I can. Way to go, LJ! Like I didn't feel behind before!

ETA I JUST REMEMBERED: Arashi/EXTREME FOOD OTP. I love [info]flange5 a lot.

In a previous entry I decided that if anybody on the flist wanted to know what I thought about them in my spare, not-on-the-net time. Several of you took me up on that. You poor, poor bastards.

So, read on if you want to know the random things that make me think of you, the random thoughts I have about you, and the ways in which I might be a total creeper. Yay! )

I'm so busy. And not in a good way today. Potentially I'm going to be severely disappointed and upset about something. Everybody's fine and things are all right--just the several things that aren't good.

A link and a bit of a real-life update

  • Jul. 27th, 2009 at 11:27 PM
Hello Goodbye
I wanted to share a link with...well, pretty much anybody. Everybody gets irritated by n00bs sometimes--be they new to Arashi or LJ or whatever. I know I've gotten rude and uppity. But, at the same time, I've been here for so long (since codes, people) that I forget what it's like to be NEW to a place. Lurking is not always first nature to people (my nearly twelve-year-old, for one and my almost-nine-year-old for another). Sometimes its satifying to snap at the n00bs who are asking a question we've seen thousands of times or who can't seem to think to check the memories or tags. But in the end, as with so many things, it's generally better to take a breath and be polite (yeah, I hate that too, sometimes).

I know that I'm still grateful that nobody ever trashed my first attempts at Arashi fic (just a month or so into the fandom) for all the errors that were in there. And I knwo that I was lucky enough to get in (with my first journal) when this place was just being built so I wasn't alone in not knowing what to do--we were all making it up as we went along. So for anybody new to LJ who happens by here Welcome to LJ and Arashi: A Brilliant Primer by Erin.

THAT said: Seriously real life and summer sort of ate me. )

PS. Tegomass. Which one of them sounds like a girl when he sings?
PPS. I like the song Puzzle.

EVEN MORE PS: I feel bad for saying it but I would totally bang all of TOKIO and probably most of SMAP. Why don't I know anything about V6 aside from 'lolz, boygirls'?

FINAL PS: I feel like I keep missing my flist (because y'all are awesome). Post a comment and ask me what I think about whenever I miss you/am thinking about you away from LJ then, in my next post, I'll tell you what it is and I might even explain WHY!

Regarding Fic

  • Jul. 5th, 2009 at 12:11 AM
If you will listen
New stuff up at [info]arashiroadtrip. It's not the end, btw, just the awesome start of the next part of the trip.

Voting over at [info]shoneenclub. Even if you don't want to vote (why wouldn't you want to?) you should still go read the fic and look at the art. There is AWESOMESAUCE to be had. I'm tempted to know if anybody can guess what I wrote...only I have the feeling that it's probably pretty damn obvious.

[info]je_fqfest is still posting fics (at the rate of five a day). JE PORN. What's not to love? There's a nice set of tags to use to find whatever you're looking for but, more importantly, THIS was written for me. I find it to be beautiful and all sweet and hot. YES.
I cannot (nor would I) say which one I wrote (or whether or not its posted yet) but, again, I have the feeling that its pretty obvious.

Also: MEG. I love her brain. No, I don't think anybody would notice (or care) about McCoy's accent. And your pain tastes like sweet, sweet candy.

ETA: I removed the rant. It's really just self-indulgent crap. Long story short and still boring? )

The important part to remember? THOSE LINKS.

Deadlines and junk

i can't brain today
Ah, I meant to pimp this earlier but...the short story contest [info]ohmiya ends today. Get an entry in if you can. ;___; I don't know that I will. My brain is sort of NOT WORKING.

[info]sei_shoku is also going to be runing a contest because Nino's birthday is coming up and
He has cute hands

Ps: Moar [info]shoneenclub spam, plz. C'mon, you guys know you want to write the Sho-Nino bffery.

ALSO. [info]ruisetsuna is fantastic. She drew Heart-shaped Ohmiya, girl!Ohmiya (yes, I like my boyband as girls), and animal!Arashi. And in between those is some Matsujun sparkling and some Aiba/Jun and HI I LIKE ART, OKAY?

Which reminds me that everybody should check out the art over at the Road Trip's Fanart Masterlist.

And regarding [info]arashiroadtrip... It really amazes me. It started as comment spam over at Tiina's and now it's 45 parts, has a word count of over 50k, and no real end in sight because there is so much we haven't explored (and other famous people we haven't roped in). And it's not like we plan things out as a group. I don't think anybody really talks to anybody about what's going to happen 'next' (sometimes 'next' is set years in the past) and somehow the whole thing just keeps going and keeps being awesome.

So, I am--and have been--really ill lately. As in 'antipyretics take the edge off the fever, every muscle aches because I'm shivering all the time, I can't breath on TWO levels--head AND chest--and just the thought of swallowing makes my throat hurt and that was before all the coughing started' really ill.

Today, I gave in and went to the doctor's office. Who wants to hear about it? )

I am feeling slightly more coherent but possibly more miserable. I am now going to poke around the internet.

PS. Huh. [info]je_fqfest informs me that there are only six-point-five weeks left. a;sdkjf;lsdj DDDD: PORN. MUST. MAKE. PORN.

Happy birthday and some random stuff!

  • Apr. 5th, 2009 at 10:05 PM
the last one
Firstly: Happy birthday, Erin!

I posted a comment fic over at [info]shoneenclub in celebration. Shoneenclub. I love that name. ♥

In other Arashi news: New single. I'm tempted but I'm not going to shell out for the limited edition until I know if I like both songs.

Random stuff: The contest at [info]ohmiya. I have an entry for the drabble contest. I hope to have one for the short story contest, too. I would not object to any of you joining in. I AM JUST SAYIN'.

Also: The Road Trip AU. ♥♥♥ One day it shall be posted and that day shall be AWESOME.

Stripper Pole: I...I just can't post it when I'm so unhappy with the transition. It's written but I wrote it in two parts, the smut first and then the lead in. Hence my trouble joining them. I want to get it out of my head but I know that my 'i don't like it' is actually factual and not just my usual 'i don't like it' that I feel for my own work.

Finally: I have a fic rant. Rant, rant, rant )

ETA: I feel like changing out icons but I hate looking for them. If you want to throw icons at me, please do.

ETA2: I just finally got into my e-mail. Do you know who is totally awesome? ZEL. a;lsdkfja;dfj OMG I LOVE HER FOREVER. I LOVE HER LIKE BURNING.

I need to watch some Arashi now

I will cut this because it is real-life crap about my kids and the town I live in and how I think the cops here suck

ETA: I feel better now that I've (re)watched Aiba touching a monkey's face and saying it felt like his nuts. No matter what else I have done, or haven't done, as a parent I have given my children Arashi--they can't help but have happy lives now.

Still...I'm probably not going to write tonight. Instead I will probably catch up on comments (which I had planned for tomorrow night). There is some really fucking awesome fic out on my f-list and I am way behind in telling everybody how amazing they are. Also: There is awesome discussion out there, too.

Comments are off because I have a headache and I have to go buy cherries for show-and-tell tomorrow.

Bad! Bad sex fiend!
I got my [info]je_fqfest assignment! It is good and I think I can take it to a place that is AWESOME. (I say this now, but by the time it's done, I'll hate the beejezus out of it.) But seriously, part of it fell in to place right away. I plan to let it simmer while I finish Sho and his sparkly pole of strippage Vs. Sho's bandmates who totally have this coming AND the AU au. A-and maybe the thing with Machida.

I am also going to point you over here for stuff that Akiko is working on that made me laugh and un-pulped the brain that I had squeezed dry by porning at Becky. I mean, that whole entry is gold but the thing. With the butt. I AM HAPPY.

Also: I see that Meg is in my e-mail box and she potentially has tasty treats for me! Yay!

PS. I'm not ignoring anybody--I've got two kids down with ear infections that they got from the other two. I'm beginning to think that I should add bleach to the bathwater instead of bubbles. Srsly, childrens, wth?

Finally, some random pic-spammage.

And by 'random' I mean 'Arashi' )

Also, a picture of my glasses )

So, yeah, I'm going to hell...

I'm laughing my ass off but if it totally wrecks the story for you, you can blame Akiko--she is the only reason I even have that song.

We now serve Rap!
Some of you may have noticed a lack of spam, others may have noticed that I am a whore and haven't provided Stripper Pole!Sho yet I haven't posted lately. Real life decided it was time to suck now that the weather is going nice(er).

My mom had a stroke last week. Actually, she had three and the last one ended with an intracerebral hemorrhage. In other words, she was bleeding into her brain. So. Yeah. Things really sort of sucked for a while because Wisconsin was having nice--if very rainy--weather and Minnesota (which is where I'm from originally and where my parents still live) was getting a metric fuckton of snow. She's all right now, mostly. And it's not like it's entirely unexpected for her to have had a stroke--her cholesterol is crap and she's...well, I won't say 'old'. But I'm thirty-one and one of the youngest out of their fifteen kids--my parents are just a wee bit advanced in age.

I had to take some time offline to deal with that and I feel much better now. Plus, I got to come back to the flist being AWESOME. (I have to catch up--so if I missed something, please to be telling me about it and demanding that I participate in your awesomeness.)

I'm sort of hoping that I'll be able to actually write something again soon. >.< Stubborn writer's block is stubborn! So, since I'd like to concentrate on fun things, I am going to present you with the Works-in-progress meme thingie that I've seen around. You know, the one where you post a single sentence from stuff in your 'to write' pile? I'm not saying that all of this will get written--some of it might just end up as deadfics--but have a glimpse into my 'write this you idiot' file (yes that's what it is named).

WIP Meme! )

Yeeeeeeeeeah. I'll just get right on those, shall I?

orz Why did I think that thinking about my fic would make me happy? *weeps bitterly*

Yes, yes, there will be fic soon...

  • Feb. 17th, 2009 at 12:20 AM
moar plz
But not now. For now, you can find tons of fic at both [info]ohmiyaday and [info]fivesomeaday! Mmmfic. I'm not sure when the voting starts, but who cares? I don't have a shot and it's free fiction anyhow!

Now for the BAD news.

I...you guys? I think I love Tanaka Koki. I think the WU boards started it and now he has to leave KAT-TUN or something so that I can properly appreciate him. Either that or somebody has to staple Kamenashi's shirt to his chest so he can stop taking it off. And then they need to do the same to Akanishi. (Then I'd have to learn who the other guys are in that band.) So, yeah. Quit, Koki! Quit!

Also: I have a huge headache. Owie. Looking at the computer is making it worse.

Circe in Jdrama-land

  • Feb. 2nd, 2009 at 2:22 PM
We now serve Rap!
For the record: Maou was my first ever Japanese drama--unless I can count Kamen Rider Kabuto as a drama, in which case it was the second. Ryuusei no Kizuna was the second (or third). So, essentially, I'm a total novice here. I'm not familiar with the tropes that Japanese television uses--they're not all different but there are some that are based on cultural aspects that don't come into play on Western television. What this means is that I am surprised about some events that I shouldn't be and I'm not sick unto death of others.

Spoilers for stuff, I suppose. Also, really, Becky does this rec-and-recap stuff so much better. I'm just going to ramble at you.

First up: Voice, which in MY mind is 'Toma's new drama'. (I don't know why I love Ikuta Toma so much. I really don't.)

Summary (taken from Tokyograph and [info]jdramas): A group of five medical students take on the task of conveying the "voices of the dead."

Kaji Daiki fails to get into a popular heart surgery seminar but is somehow accepted into a seminar on forensic pathology. When he approaches professor Sagawa and asks him why he ended up in the seminar, Sagawa challenges him by asking why he wants to study heart surgery. Daiki replies that medicine is meaningless after the heart stops, but Sagawa counters that medicine also applies to the dead.

And so, together with fellow students Ryosuke, Kanako, Teppei and Akira, Daiki begins to explore the mysteries of death.

Voice )

So that's a little bit deeper than the OTHER stuff I'm watching. For example...

Mei-chan no Shitsuji. (Shitsuji being 'butler'. I thought of sheep the first time I read it, though, and the show sort of plays with that.)

Summary from Tokyograph: The story revolves around a young woman named Mei, who was rescued as a young girl by someone calling himself her "butler." With only a vague memory, though, the experience seems like just a dream. But one day, after her parents' accidental death, he appears: Rihito comes from a line of outstanding butlers, and he has been appointed to serve her! Now her ordinary life has completely flipped, as she discovers that she's actually the heiress to a fortune, and is forced to transfer to St. Lucia Girls' Academy, where all the students have butlers! As a result, her childhood friend Kento decides to enroll in a butler school so that he can stay close to her.

Mei-chan no Shitsuji )

If I had to chose between this and Voice, I'd pick Voice. It has less flower-filled scenes even if it DOES try to make you cry with its ending theme. So far I watch them together and it works pretty well.

RE: Uta no Oniisan. Please see [info]beckerbell's posts about it. I am all over them. W-with ideas that are totally not turning into fic in my head. Omg, I swear they're not. I swear they are not brainworms. ...okay, they're probably brainworms.

BUT. The thing you are all really here for (that is not fic): My thoughts on Yamada Tarou Monogatari. AKA: That one that [info]honooko describes as "You know, the one where the rich stoic kid is TOTALLY GAY for the super oblivious poor kid, who only has eyes for hamburger!"

That one.

It's really gay, you guys. )

So...it really is just a frothy and silly show with some really touching moments and a message about how doing your best and rejoicing in the love of your family can make you happy with how much--or little--you have. It's a cute show and the kids and Ed and I are sort of loving the hell out of it. If nothing else it is worth it for the vast amounts of Mimura being gay on Tarou. And Tarou being obliviously gay right back when he is not fawning on his siblings.

It really sort of makes me want to write make-outs for it. And backstage make-outs.

I have better conversations when I don't have to try to sort it out, first. Bring something up in the comments and we can have a nice discussion? Otherwise, write me make-outs!
We now serve Rap!
Hey! Did anybody else notice that on VS Arashi 41 Sho and Jun were in perfect sync on their last shot during Jumping Shooter? I was impressed! I mean, it's stupid, right? But it looked cool. Yes, I am a huge nerd.

In other news: I am a huge bitch!

Later I will fill in this space with stuff about YTM (adjkf;lskjd I LOVE MAURICE FOREVER, YOU GUYS) and Voice, and Mei no Shitsuji and...um. Uta no Oniisan? No, wait, go to [info]beckerbell for most of that. I'm over there all the time anyhow (I'm in UR journal, commentin' on ur shows!) and she's got good recaps. But come back for the YTM? You can see how the last person on earth to watch this show feels about it!

ETA: Okay, my connection has been total crap for the last three hours. >.< So tomorrow you may have my thoughts on Things I Have Been Watching.

For now, have some really retarded fic that is COMPLETELY based on this picture and the fact that Erin and I are Bad Influences on each other.

I should probably be all 'orz orz orz' about this but I am easily amused so I'm sort of still ':D :D :D' over it.

ETA: I'm going to have to go looking for icons. YTM and UnO for sure. I am SO LAME. (I might want ones for MnS or Voice, too. SO LAME, U GUISE.)

  • Jan. 23rd, 2009 at 9:16 PM
Bad! Bad sex fiend!
You guys, please tell me to stop looking at the internet and go back to writing.

I am supposed to be working on:

The Super-Gay Ohmiya fic that is, seriously, the queerest thing I've ever written for the [info]ohmiyaday challenge.

The 'Let's-everybody-kiss-Sho' fivesome for the challenge at [info]fivesomeaday.

AND AU-au!Nino has had his hand down AU-au!Sho's pants for the last week.

I should NOT be thinking about:

Photoshoots and the fic that they inspire.

Hugging Tendou.

That RnK/Maou thing. And the bonus bit that wouldn't really be part of the story.

OR Aiba telling Jun that those melons touched Nino's nipples.

For now, have some random pictures!

Arashi pictures make me ha~ppy~~! )

And now I guess I will try to go back to writing again. orz

On my to-do list: Finally leave comments on all those fics I keep meaning to leave comments on. I am woefully behind. Orz

But! On the bright side! My furnace is fixed, I didn't have to cook for the second Saftey Patrol dinner (because I had the stomach flu!), and I marathoned Ryuusei no Kizuna. I have to say...I don't think I would have been as moved or surprised by things if I hadn't watched it over the course of two days.

...okay, I probably still would have cried my way through a good chunk of episode ten anyhow. Edward was very good to put up with me watching it on the couch beside him while he played video games.

Cut for the smallest of all possible spoilers for RnK and Maou )

In other news: If Sho really IS going to be in New York (at ComicCon) on February 6th I will CRY. One: It probably means Yatterman is going to be in a theater somewhere near and, therefore, there exists the possibility of seeing it on the big screen. Two: I could, possibly, actually make it to New York. Three: Guess whose husband has to be in St. Louis on the sixth of February. *flails* GIVE ME SAKURAI SHO.

Finally: There are certain comms on my watch list that are run by total and complete bitches. I hate them a lot!
this year i'm giving FIVESOME CHOCOLATES to all my friends.

and

ohmiya is my my valentine

I am probably going to end up writing something for both because I am pathetically easy.
